CONTINUING A FAMILY TRADITION

Georgia General was opened in Spring 2023 by Sarah Bromfield, with help from her partner James. While both originally from the UK, Sarah has always known Vancouver well, regularly visiting family here including her grandparents who ran a renowned electrical store in New Westminster from the 1950s onwards.

Sarah has carried that same spirit, starting with a travelling market stall out of a 60s Airstream, to selling handmade leather goods & ceramics around Vancouver. When the keys to 706 Victoria Drive dropped in to her lap - itself a corner store that has served East Vancouver for 100 years - there was no doubt what her next step should be.

For the General Good

What started as a vintage store has quickly expanded into Sarah & James's vision of a general store.

Everything we sell is carefully considered and selected to create a fun and inspiring space full of unique items, that also support under-represented producers, with a range of products from BIPOC and women-owned small businesses.

Whatever you're looking for

We carry such a diverse collection of goods we may have just what you're after.

There's nothing Sarah loves more than matching her customers up with just the item they're looking for. That's why it's always worth asking if you're after something specific. If it's not on the shop floor there's a fair chance it could be hiding in one of our storage areas. And if we don't have it Sarah may well know where to find it.
